In 2013, Michael began training para-dressage rider, Mary Jordan.Ĭo-Host Regina Cristo. He sits on the Board of The Dressage Foundation, and travels extensively as a coach and FEI “I” judge. He created the USDF’s National Dressage Symposium and Trainer’s Conference, developed the USDF’s Instructor Certification Program, and founded the Olympic Dream Program for Young Riders. Michael is committed to the education and development of top U.S. Among them are Lendon Gray, Mary Howard, Larry Poulin and Michael Barisone. In addition to his own competitive career, Michael’s horses and students have succeeded at the very highest levels of dressage, including the Pan Am Games and the Olympics. He trained and rode two horses – Graf George and Bombadier – to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics earning a Team Bronze alongside his long-time student Carol Lavell.
